    [Final Call: Summer Internship] Hang Lung Properties Internship Programme 2021 (Deadline: 4 June)

    The Hang Lung Internship Program aims to nurture the young elite through on-the-job training and practical work. Interns will be posted in one of our departments to acquire relevant knowledge and develop professional skills, both of which are crucial for future career success.

    This year, we will continue the internship collaboration with local universities and extend the opportunities to undergraduates with disabilities and special education needs to bring their potential into full play. 

    Internship Period: Minimum of 8 weeks from June to August 2021
    Work Locations: Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shengyang, Jinan, Wuxi, Tianjin, Dalian, Kunming and Wuhan.
    Requirements: We welcome non-final year university students with the following attributes and competencies to join our program:

    • Passion for a long-term career development in the property industry
    • Demonstrable leadership qualities
    • Enthusiasm for teamwork
    • Excellent analytical thinking
    • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua

    Invitation to Pitching InnoTech Solutions_HSBC Future Skills Development Project 2021

    Dear students,


    The HSBC Future Skills Development Project is to provide education and training to re-skill young people, giving them the tools necessary for them to be creative, innovative and original. These skills, which involve both theoretical and practical aspects of knowledge, also include financial literacy, enhanced communication and sound analytical interpretations.  And Pitching InnoTech Solutions encourages students to generate innotech solution to tackle social issues. Teams are required to submit a 2-page proposal to introduce their project ideas. Ten shortlisted teams will enter final and pitch their project to industry professionals. Outstanding teams will receive cash rewards to execute their projects.

    Target: *Students currently studying in Hong Kong tertiary institutes
    Team size: 1-8
    Content:
    1. Each team submits a compulsory 2-page proposal (template provided).
    2. Teams may submit an optional 3-minute video to pursue video awards.
    3. 10 shortlisted finalists enter final pitching.
    4. Each finalist pitches to judges for 8 minutes, followed by 7-minute Q&A session.
    Assessment criteria:
    - Understanding of the applied technology/ solutions
    - Technical feasibility
    - Innovation and creativity
    - Social/ community impact

The event with a thematic topic "Things you need to know about Startup: Survival Guide" aims to draw attention not only to the challenges which the Startups had to encounter but also to the business strategies that entrepreneurs have in mind in order to survive during a hard time.

    Elites in Startup Industry and representatives from the Venture Capital Investors will be invited to have a panel discussion on the captioned topic to share with us their fruitful experiences and also to talk about the keys of fundraising for Startups.

    Mr Danny Chong, Senior Investment Director, Gobi Partners

     

    Danny joined Gobi as a Senior Investment Director in 2020, with a focus on emerging startups in Greater Bay Area (GBA). He started his career as a management consultant at PwC, advising MNCs and asset managers on technology and valuation projects. He has accumulated multiple experiences in accelerating the market penetrations for early-stage startups. Danny led the growth initiatives across Asia for ZALORA. As the Vice President at INSIDER, he built up the Greater China presence and oversaw the collaboration with startups in APAC to accelerate their digital growth.

     
     

    Mr Davon Hui, CEO & Founder, blutech IoT Limited

     

    Davon Hui graduated with Mphil in Technology Leadership and Entrepreneurship from HKUST. During school, he was awarded the Global Student Entrepreneur Award and Best Student Paper from HKIE. Immediately after graduation, he co-founded blutech.io, aiming to liberate the people's labour force with robots. Currently, he focuses on smart toilet management system and has been recognized by different awards. For example, the 2020 Qianhai Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Enterprise Growth Group Silver Award, the 2020 Hong Kong ICT Award of the year, and the 2020 Hong Kong ICT Start-up Award. The company's products have been adopted by many real estates developers, such as Sun Hung Kai, Sino, and Hong Kong Hospital Authority.

     
     

    Ms Yina Chan, Principal, Saltagen Venture

     

    Yina is the Principal at Saltagen Ventures and led early-stage deals in both North America and Hong Kong, as well as built partnerships with notable universities and ecosystems across Canada and Asia to support startups’ global expansion. She specialised in cross-border financing structuring and helping companies to localize operation in Asia.

    HKICS (香港特許秘書公會): Corporate Governance Paper Competition and Presentation Awards 2021 (Deadline: 25 June)

    210531 hkicThe Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS) is strongly dedicated to upholding good corporate governance and makes every endeavour to promote business ethics and governance principles. The HKICS Corporate Governance Paper Competition and Presentation Awards (the Competition), which was launched in 2006, aims to raise awareness of the importance of good Governance among undergraduates at local universities.

    The HKICS Corporate Governance Paper Competition 2021 is now open to enrolment. The theme of the competition is: ‘Is it possible to tie governance with a sense of purpose given the myriad of stakeholders’ interests?’ The top six teams are awarded attractive prizes. Undergraduates who have passion in good governance are encourage to join the competition now! 

    Eligibility: Local undergraduates in Hong Kong in a team of 2 to 4 members
