Dear students,

The coming Common Recruitment Examination and Basic Law Test (Degree / Professional Grades)
(CRE and BLT) is tentatively scheduled to be held in Hong Kong on 5 and 12 June 2021, or another date within June 2021 if necessary.

Application details

The application period for the coming CRE and BLT is tentatively scheduled from 2 to 15 April, 2021.  Applicants may choose to take any of the CRE papers and / or the BLT paper in this examination.  The application details and an on-line application system will be available on our webpage at www.csb.gov.hk/eng/cre.html during the application period. 

The CRE and BLT is open to all holders of degree or a qualification meeting the entry requirement on professional qualifications for civil service degree or professional posts.  Students who will have attained a degree in the 2020-21 academic year may also apply to take the coming CRE and BLT.

In the light of the evolving situation regarding the COVID-19, the Civil Service Bureau will adjust the arrangements on the examination if the situation warrants and announce them on our webpage.  Applicants for taking the coming CRE and BLT are advised to visit the webpage of Civil Services Bureau (CSB) regularly for updates.

Year-end CRE and BLT
Please also note that another round of the CRE and BLT will be held tentatively in late 2021.  For the convenience of those studying or residing outside Hong Kong, this round of examination will also be held in some non-local cities.  The examination is tentatively scheduled for 2 and 9 October 2021 in Hong Kong, and 4 December 2021 in non-local cities.  The CSB will update the details relating to this round of examination later this year.

Joint Recruitment Examination (JRE)
The next JRE for the Administrative Officer, Executive Officer and the relevant grades is tentatively scheduled to be held in Hong Kong and some non-local cities on 4 December 2021.  

Preparations for CRE & BLT

In order to help students to familiarize with the CRE/BLT format, HKBU Career Centre will organize a series of training workshops in May. The schedule will be uploaded onto the Centre website in late April.
