Life is hard sometimes. We all want to avoid pain, but it is inevitable in human experience. How we respond to our own and others’ pain makes a huge difference when we navigate through life.

Research on self-compassion over the last decade has shown its benefits to well-being. Individuals who are more self-compassionate tend to have greater happiness, life satisfaction and motivation, better relationships and physical health, and less anxiety and depression. They also have the resilience to cope with stressful life events such as relationship crises, health crises, academic failure, and even trauma.

In this CCL-recognised online workshop, we will talk about what is self-compassion based on Dr. Kristin Neff’s work. Through discussion and simple exercises, you will gain practical skills to help bring self-compassion into your daily life. You will learn ways to stop being so hard on yourself; to handle difficult emotions with greater ease; and to motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism. You can then extend the same kindness to people around you and deepen the connections in your relationships.
