Dear students,

Organised by Swire Properties, Swire Properties Placemaking Academy 2021 is now calling for applications. In this competition, participating students will compete in designing, planning and executing the White Christmas Street Fair – the Company’s annual year-end community celebration and one of the city’s biggest and most popular seasonal events. 

Event Highlights:            - Background schedule                  - Request for Proposal                - Table

  • A HK$270,000 paid 6-month project apprenticeship: A maximum of two winning teams will be offered a HK$270,000 paid six-month project apprenticeship at the Swire Properties Placemaking Academy.
  • A full internship at Swire Properties’ Public Affairs team: Selected students will obtain a full internship to join the Swire Properties’ Public Affairs team to put their creative ideas into realization.
  • Masterclasses: Totaling more than 100 hours; lectures by industry experts and our department heads, from a variety of backgrounds such as architecture, urban planning, design and communications.
  • Mentorship Sessions: Students will be mentored by our senior management, event-planning experts, and thought leaders from the design and community-planning industries.

Eligibility & Criteria:
Together with creativity, integrity and passion, applicants should be:

  • A full-time undergraduate student at a Hong Kong university
  • 18 years old or above with a Hong Kong identity card
  • A strong team player
  • Have a good academic record; active in extra-curricular activities, mature and be a good lateral thinker
  • Good communication skills (spoken and written) in both English and Chinese
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate understanding, knowledge, capabilities and relevant experience as detailed in the project description

Application Method:
Interested students are requested to acknowledge receipt of the attached Request for Proposal for 2021 Christmas Street Fair no later than 5p.m. (Hong Kong time) on 14 May 2021 by email to placemaking@swireproperties.com. The acknowledgement should confirm that you have received the RFP and express your intent in taking part in this RFP exercise. Please also provide your team members’ information (name, university and faculty) in the email as well as their resumes, in the attached table format for your reference. Should you wish to decline the RFP, please inform Swire Properties immediately.
