Dr. Alex CHUNG, Member, ACGE

Dr. Alex Chung has over two decades of experience in the technology, IT, Mobile and Consumer Electronics sectors. Dr. Chung held various senior management positions at Lenovo HK, Samsung Electronics HK Co. Ltd., Sony Corporation of HK Ltd., and Sony Marketing Asia Pacific.

In 2016, Dr. Chung was the CEO and Co-founder to develop the new Brand- AVITA  in 30 countries/regions such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Middle East (UAE, Qatar, Saudi, Bahrain, etc.), UK/Ireland and USA, etc. He also developed a new business model with VAIO Corporation in Japan to manage the Japanese brand and OEM business in the global market.

In 2022, Dr. Chung set up the new company, AVITA Technologies International Company Limited as the CEO and Founder.  AVITA Technologies is the IT and Fintech company that formed a joint venture with  Jasmy Incorporated in Japan, with the vision of transforming the company into an Innovative IT & IoT Solution and FinTech Service Provider under the trend of Web3, Blockchain technology, and cryptocurrency application.

Dr. Chung holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Hong Kong, an Executive Master of Business Administration from The University of Western Ontario, Canada and BBA (Hons) in Marketing from Hong Kong Baptist University. He is currently the President of Hong Kong Information Technology Federation (HKITF), focused on bringing value to the industry by heading IT-related businesses and professionals to provide impactful innovation, implementation and support effective use of technologies in business processes.

Dr. Chung is also a fellow member (FCIM) of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) and a Chartered Marketer. Dr. Chung is a member of the Advisory Committee on Graduate Employment of HKBU and the Internationalization Advisory Committee of HKBU School of Business. He is also a General Committee of the Hong Kong Exporters Association facilitating Hong Kong as a smart innovation centre in the world. He was awarded the Outstanding Entrepreneur Award at CAPITAL Magazine recognizing his innovation and excellent entrepreneurship.
