    WTIA is organising a launch party and sharing section for the 2021 ICT Startup Award. The event with a thematic topic "Things you need to know about Startup: Survival Guide" aims to draw attention not only to the challenges which the Startups had to encounter but also to the business strategies that entrepreneurs have in mind in order to survive during a hard time.

    Elites in Startup Industry and representatives from the Venture Capital Investors will be invited to have a panel discussion on the captioned topic to share with us their fruitful experiences and also to talk about the keys of fundraising for Startups.

    Meanwhile, a brief introductory session will be conducted to share the insight of the ICT Startup Award and all the preparation work you may need to do before you submit your application. For more details, please go to https://www.ictstartup.org/

    Mr Danny Chong, Senior Investment Director, Gobi Partners

     

    Danny joined Gobi as a Senior Investment Director in 2020, with a focus on emerging startups in Greater Bay Area (GBA). He started his career as a management consultant at PwC, advising MNCs and asset managers on technology and valuation projects. He has accumulated multiple experiences in accelerating the market penetrations for early-stage startups. Danny led the growth initiatives across Asia for ZALORA. As the Vice President at INSIDER, he built up the Greater China presence and oversaw the collaboration with startups in APAC to accelerate their digital growth.

     
     

    Mr Davon Hui, CEO & Founder, blutech IoT Limited

     

    Davon Hui graduated with Mphil in Technology Leadership and Entrepreneurship from HKUST. During school, he was awarded the Global Student Entrepreneur Award and Best Student Paper from HKIE. Immediately after graduation, he co-founded blutech.io, aiming to liberate the people's labour force with robots. Currently, he focuses on smart toilet management system and has been recognized by different awards. For example, the 2020 Qianhai Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Enterprise Growth Group Silver Award, the 2020 Hong Kong ICT Award of the year, and the 2020 Hong Kong ICT Start-up Award. The company's products have been adopted by many real estates developers, such as Sun Hung Kai, Sino, and Hong Kong Hospital Authority.

     
     

    Ms Yina Chan, Principal, Saltagen Venture

     

    Yina is the Principal at Saltagen Ventures and led early-stage deals in both North America and Hong Kong, as well as built partnerships with notable universities and ecosystems across Canada and Asia to support startups’ global expansion. She specialised in cross-border financing structuring and helping companies to localize operation in Asia.

    [Final Call: Summer Internship] Hang Lung Properties Internship Programme 2021 (Deadline: 4 June)

    The Hang Lung Internship Program aims to nurture the young elite through on-the-job training and practical work. Interns will be posted in one of our departments to acquire relevant knowledge and develop professional skills, both of which are crucial for future career success.

    This year, we will continue the internship collaboration with local universities and extend the opportunities to undergraduates with disabilities and special education needs to bring their potential into full play. 

    Internship Period: Minimum of 8 weeks from June to August 2021
    Work Locations: Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shengyang, Jinan, Wuxi, Tianjin, Dalian, Kunming and Wuhan.
    Requirements: We welcome non-final year university students with the following attributes and competencies to join our program:

    • Passion for a long-term career development in the property industry
    • Demonstrable leadership qualities
    • Enthusiasm for teamwork
    • Excellent analytical thinking
    • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua
