Pre-T8 Special Announcement2

 

Issued between 08:00 - 23:00

  1. Visitation will be immediately suspended. No visitors will further be allowed to enter the Halls.
  2. All current visitors in the Halls should leave before the No. 8 Signal is issued.

Issued between 23:00 - 08:00

  1. Visitation will be suspended as usual.

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is issued

or

Extreme Conditions

Visitation will be suspended.

Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued

Issued between 08:00 - 23:00

  1. Visitation will be suspended as soon as practicable.
  2. All visitors in the Halls should stay inside until the heavy rain has passed. If the signal is still in effect at or after 23:00, visitors who are unable to find a safe place to take shelter can stay at the G/F lobby of the North or South Tower if necessary.

Issued between 23:00 - 08:00

  1. Visitation will be suspended as usual.

Resumption after Adverse Weather or Extreme Conditions

Visitation will be resumed as soon as practicable.

  1. All residents, visitors and guests are responsible for taking note of the latest tropical cyclone information and related announcements broadcast on radio and TV and given on the Hong Kong Observatory’s website (http://www.hko.gov.hk), My Observatory mobile app and Dial-a Weather system (Tel. No.: 1878 200) to decide on the actions to take in response to the signal issued.
  2. The Hong Kong Observatory will provide an advance notice, i.e. the pre-No.8 special announcement, to the general public when the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 is expected within a general period [e.g.: within 2 hours; in the afternoon] or with a specified time [e.g.: 12:40]. https://www.hko.gov.hk/en/publica/gen_pub/files/tcws.pdf

Issued between 10:00 - 23:00

  1. GPS will be immediately suspended.
  2. All pending and approved applications will be considered null and void.
  3. No refunds will be provided for any paid guest passes if the payment is made AFTER the pre-T8 announcement.

Issued between 23:00 – 06:15

  1. Approved and paid GPS guests can remain in the Halls until 10:00 of the following day. They have to leave the Halls via the G/F turnstiles no later than 10:00. 

Issued between 06:15 – 10:003

  1. Guests should leave the Halls before the No. 8 Signal is issued.
  2. GPS will be suspended for the day.

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is issued

Extreme Conditions

 


GPS will be suspended.

Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued

Issued between 10:00 - 23:00

  1. GPS will be immediately suspended.
  2. All pending and approved applications will be considered null and void.
