- All residents, visitors and guests are responsible for taking note of the latest tropical cyclone information and related announcements broadcast on radio and TV and given on the Hong Kong Observatory’s website (http://www.hko.gov.hk), My Observatory mobile app and Dial-a Weather system (Tel. No.: 1878 200) to decide on the actions to take in response to the signal issued.
- The Hong Kong Observatory will provide an advance notice, i.e. the pre-No.8 special announcement, to the general public when the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 is expected within a general period [e.g.: within 2 hours; in the afternoon] or with a specified time [e.g.: 12:40]. https://www.hko.gov.hk/en/publica/gen_pub/files/tcws.pdf
