Rules and Regulations
All residents will receive an Admission Kit upon check-in which contains the important rules and information with respect to residents' living at the hostel. Residents shall agree to observe and comply with the Terms and Conditions, Hostel Rules and Residents’ Code of Conduct stated in the Admission Kit.
Meanwhile, residents should also take note of the below important points regarding the daily instances of hostel life so as to create a harmonious living environment in the hostels.
1. Maintain the Safety and Security of Hostels
1.1 |
Access Control |
Residents of NTTIH are required to put their room cards in front of the card reader when passing the security control gate. |

1.2 | Visitors |
Residents can invite visitor(s) during the visitation hours from 0800 to 2300. The resident must register the visitor at the security counter in person, accompany the visitor throughout his/her stay in NTTIH and be responsible for the acts of their visitors. |

1.3 | Room Cards and Keys |
Residents shall be responsible for good custody of the room cards and keys and are not allowed to duplicate them. Lending of residents’ room card / key to others for accessing the hostel or any other purpose is considered as a serious breach of Hostel Rules and Residents’ Code of Conduct. |
2. Protect the Hostel Environment
2.1 |
Take Good Care of the Public Properties |
Residents must keep all areas clean and tidy in the hostels. Residents are responsible for House’s properties including those in rooms and common areas, and shall pay on demand for any damage or loss of the properties in accordance with the list of compensation on loss or damage (HERE). If the loss or damage of a property in a double room is unable to be identified, both residents have to be held equally liable for the damage or loss. The University reserves the right to review and amend the charges from time to time. |

2.2 | Save Energy |
Residents shall make their best efforts to save energy by turning off the electrical appliance and water taps when they are not in use. |
3. Observe the Residents’ Code of Conduct
3.1 |
No Smoking |
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas of the House premises including the parking lot and public areas of the premises. A maximum fine of HK$1,500 shall be charged to residents who are found smoking at the House premises. If violation of the rule for the second time, the resident concerned may face immediate termination of House residence. | |
3.2 |
No Alcoholic Beverage |
Residents and their visitors are not allowed to consume any alcoholic beverages in the House. A resident who violates the rule may face disciplinary action and / or immediate termination of House residence. If alcoholic beverages are found in a resident’s room, the resident shall be charged a minimum fine of HK$500, and NTTIH management reserves the right to remove the item(s) from the House. |

3.3 |
No Gambling |
Residents shall not engage in any gambling activity or any act, play or game that gives the impression of gambling in the House or permit such activities to take place in the House premises. Any violation may result in immediate termination of House residence. | |
3.4 |
No Drugs |
Residents and their visitors shall not possess or consume any dangerous drugs at the House premises. Any violation will result in immediate termination of House residence. | |
3.5 |
No Pet and / or Plant |
No pet and / or plant is allowed in the House. |
