Public hygiene is always our first and foremost concern in the Village CARE. We have a professional and helpful Cleaning Team to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene every day.

General cleaning is carried out in all communal areas daily while washrooms of student bedrooms cleaned once a week. Pest control for communal areas and student bedrooms will also be conducted on a regular and need basis. If there are any questions relating to cleaning, please report to us through the University Cyber Port System (BUniPort) [U-Life > Hall Residence].

Residents Responsibilities
Residents are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of their rooms. It is expected that residents dispose of any rubbish collected in their unit/apartment into the large bin located in the Co-living Space (also known as the Activity Room). Cleaners will then collect the rubbish from there.

Please remember not to place any leftover food in your rooms, units/apartments, or the Co-living Space, as this can cause significant hygiene issues.

Security counterStudents’ safety and security is of our utmost concern in the Village CARE. Security service is provided in the hostel premises round the clock. The security counter is located on the G/F of the South Block. For emergencies or urgent assistance, please contact the Security Counter at:

(852) 3411 1232         [South Block G/F]

If residents forget to bring their student cards or room keys and need to access their room, they can seek assistance at the Security Counter  located on the G/F.  Please note that a door opening fee of $20 will be charged for each request.

Residents Responsibilities
Valuable items and personal belongings such as cash, passport and important documents should be securely locked up. Room doors should be closed when nobody is in the room.

Residents who found any defects in the bedrooms or communal areas should report it in the University Cyber Port System (BUniPort) [U-Life > Hall Residence]. The Estates Office will repair the defects according to the level of urgency.

Defect rectification work will be arranged for some student bedrooms or common facilities, staff of the Student Accommodation Sections or technicians of the Estates Office may visit the floors or rooms occasionally. Contractors will be escorted by security or staff members.
