Cambodia Service Trip 2023-24

Background

Are you looking for volunteer services outside Hong Kong? With the travel limitations lifted, you now have overseas experiential learning opportunity and connect the local people by providing voluntary services.

In order to nurture students’ caring spirits and global citizenship, a service trip to Cambodia will be organised by Leadership Qualities Centre in collaboration with Kurmul International School. A series of pre-trip workshops and preparatory meetings will be provided to equip students with necessary skills and knowledge for the overseas exposure. 

During the trip to Cambodia, students will offer learning activities in the areas of positive psychology, happiness and wellness to local children/ teenagers, and interact with local people and experience the local cultures. After the trip, students are required to share their learnings and reflections to a larger community in HKBU, by posting videos of the trips in social media and setting up photo exhibition as their post-trip activities.

 

Aims

• To instill students with caring spirit to the global communities through organising learning activities to the children / teenagers in Cambodia
• To broaden students with global horizon through interacting with Cambodian and visiting local landmarks that rich in cultural and historic values

Screening Interview

• Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend screening interview on 11 October 2023 (Wed) from 10:00-13:00.

 

Fees

• HK$3,800/person 
• Costs include round trip flight ticket, accommodation, meals and activities arranged by LQC.
• $800 refundable upon full-attendance of all the trainings and services with satisfactory performance.
• Successful applicants will be notified shortly after the screening interview.
• To indicate the acceptance of offer, the programme fee has be to settled before the given deadline. All fee paid are non-refundable. 

Eligible students may apply for funding support from FGF.

 

Important Notes

• Succesful Applicants must fulfill the vaccination and travel requirements (if any) as required by the concerned country and bear own costs of visa application (if applicable).
