Highlights of Cambodia Service Trip

Student's Voice

Mak Tsz Hong (Year 3, Department of Computer Science)
"During this service trip, I learned a lot about teaching and cross-cultural communication skills, how to break the language barrier and communicate with them. I realized that every child needs flexible and individualized teaching, even though different activities and games are designed, changes in the process of the activities always fail to keep up with the plan, and it is important to make use of the ability to adapt to changes at this time."

Lee Wai Kiu Martha (Year 1, Faculty of Social Sciences)
"Cambodia is always mentioned as a dangerous country; however, I found out that most of the citizens are kind and passionate. I can't imagine how wonderful the kids are; they will say hello with a big smile and appreciate the wall painting with a thumbs up. They woke my pure heart up. It is easy to be nice to everyone, and we can bring happiness to the world."

Mimoun Talilah Rachel (Year 1, Faculty of Social Sciences)
"I think this service trip brought me a lot in experiences. I learned new things, like the genocide; but also things about me and how a service trip is working, how to do efficient teamwork, and a whole set of leadership activities. It reassured me about
the fact that I like working with the kids, and even teaching. The humanitarian field is indeed one that interests me a lot, and I will try to have more experiences like this one."
