U-Life Programme is a non-credit bearing graduation requirement for undergraduate degree students. Workshops and activities in U-Life programme aim to prepare the students for the new life at HKBU and enhance their capabilities to face challenges and find solutions that come from academic or work environment.

The deadlines stated above are in terms of the student's normal study period at HKBU. Exchange period, suspension or special leave of study period duly approved by the Academic Registry for 1 semester or more will be excluded from the required time frame of U-Life completion. In such cases, the deadline will be extended accordingly by semester(s).
* In terms of U-Life Programme requirement, the end of the First Semester of an academic year is defined as 31 December; the end of the Second Semester is defined as 31 May. The deadline of U-Life Programme completion is either 31 December or 31 May.
Students who fail to complete ANY of the U-Life Programme requirement by the respective deadline may be barred from access to course grades, registration for courses, and adding/dropping courses during the Add/Drop Period until they make up for the U-Life deficiency concerned. Any request for extension of deadline is usually not entertained.

AIOT is designed to be an introduction in promoting academic integrity by increasing your awareness of the issues involved. Using pertinent cases as examples, the tutorial offers suggestions and solutions to help you recognize unethical behaviours, so that you can avoid committing academic misconduct unintentionally.

CCL offers you an array of out-of-classroom learning opportunities in the forms of seminars, workshops, campus events, and experiential learning activities which all aim to foster your whole person development. You are free to choose plenty of them out of over 600 CCL-recognised activities per year to fulfil the requirement.

Undergraduate students, particularly the freshmen (Year 1 entrants), are encouraged to make good use of the block-out period on Tuesday afternoons of the First Semester to join sufficient CCL activities for completing the requirement on time.

The University Orientation Workshops (UOWs) are usually held in mid to late August during the orientation period before you formally start your semester at the University. You are free to complete the other U-Life components, such as CCL and NSLE, at your convenience before the deadlines.
The course code of ULIF1005 is merely for blocking a time slot per week for you to freely attend any CCL activities, organised by the Office of Student Affairs, other departments, units or offices, at your own choice and interests in your first semester. There is no designated location for this "class". You are encouraged to make good use of this block-out time slot to complete your CCL requirement as soon as possible.

There are make-up arrangements for the 3 UOWs. Please make up for your absence at the UOWs as instructed on the tab of UOW ► Make-up Arrangements according to your admission year.
No. AIOT has an earlier deadline, while UOWs and CCL have a later deadline. See the specific deadlines of the components and your exact deadlines on Student Learning Experience System (SLES), or MyBU-Study if you are a self-financed top-up degree student of the College of International Education (CIE).

Though many U-Life components are online modules, the data transfer of your completion record may take 1 day or more to be effective. Moreover, the record on MyBU-Study (self-financed top-up degree students only) is updated monthly. You may re-visit SLES or MyBU-Study later to check the record out again.

In the case of CCL-recognised eCourses organised by Counselling and Development Centre (CDC), Office of Student Affairs (SA) and other Online Self-learning Activities, the CCL record is usually updated bi-weekly and may take 2-3 weeks to show.
They will be counted as fulfilling the U-Life requirements even though they are recorded or completed later than the deadline.
