[What You'll Learn]

1. Design and pitch an event proposal

  • Learn proposal writing, budgeting, and pitching through hands-on workshops—and unlock seed funding to make it happen.
     

2. Present at SDG Youth Forum, co-presented with Hong Kong Culture and Sustainability Conference (CUSU) 2026

  • A chance to present your ideas and get expert judges’ feedback on your proposal, and earn an official certificate from the organiser.
     

3.   Lead your Community Project

  • Implement your proposal with primary school students—building your facilitation, teamwork, and project management skills from start to finish.

 

[Who is Eligible]

1.    Current full-time HKBU UGC-funded undergraduates from any major.

2.    Passionate about Arts, Culture and Lifestyle, eager to learn and gain hands-on experience.

3.    Able to attend all activities listed below in the Activities Schedule.  

4.    Priority given to Year 1 and Year 2 applicants if the programme is oversubscribed.

 

[Application Details]

Programme Period: 1 Sep 2026 – 31 Aug 2027

Application Deadline: 2 September 2026 (Wednesday), 4:00 p.m.

Screening Interview: Begins from 18 August 2026.  Only selected candidates will be invited to interview.

Results Announcement: By email in batches, no later than 9 September 2026 (Wednesday) evening.

Quota: 20

*Selected candidates are required to pay a refundable deposit of HK$500.

 

[Deposit Refund Requirements]

The deposit will be refunded via bank transfer only after ALL of the following are fulfilled

  1. Attend and be punctual for all workshops, presentations and community project.

  2. Submit the post-project survey.

  3. For any excused absence, please apply in written supported by official documentation prior to the activity, except for sick leave Acceptable documentation includes professor’s confirmation email for academic obligations or a valid doctor’s note.

[About the Facilitator]
Ms. Claire Lo (Siu Syu 小書) 

Experienced Event Organiser ‧ Teacher ‧ Writer ‧ HKBU alumna

Ms. Lo is a writer, funeral planner, horticultural therapist, and workshop instructor. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and a PGDE (Liberal Studies) from Hong Kong Baptist University, Claire started her career as an English teacher. She later obtained a Master’s Degree in Cultural Studies from Lingnan University.

From 2015 to 2025, Claire ran her own company, Market Fairish, leading an enthusiastic team to produce cultural and entertainment events, including weekend bazaars, art workshops, and exhibitions. Driven by her passion for reading and sharing ideas, she founded the Book Cultural Fair (書墟文化節) in 2017, which has since become an annual reading event.

In 2021, Claire published her first book, Love Diary (小情書), which ranked third in the 19th Top Ten Book Picks (Secondary School Division) organized by Hong Kong EdCity. In 2022, she published her second book, Love Diary 2 (小情書2), which recorded her battle against a rare cancer.

Her other books include Self-Healing Life: Face Your Fears Until You See Hope (2024) and Love Diary 3 (2026).
