**For local students only**

Learning Objectives:

  • To raise students’ awareness of national security and law-abidingness.
  • To cultivate a strong sense of civic duty among students.
  • To cultivate a strong sense of national identity among students

Starting from 2025/26, all new entrants (Year-1 students, direct entry to Year-2 or Year-3) of undergraduate programmes are required to complete NSE0001 as one of the compulsory components of the co-curricular learning programme (CCL) which is a graduation requirement.

You may visit the Event Search page on the CCL website and select “National Education” in the CCL component. You can also search them on Student Learning Experience System (SLES). Sometimes, the CCL organiser will send out promotional emails indicating whether the activity belongs to National Education.

You can earn 1 CCL unit or 2 CCL units for joining CCL activities of National Education component. To complete the NSE(2A), you must accumulate at least 2 CCL units by joining CCL activities of National Education component.

No, non-local students can only complete NSE(2A) by attending the National Security Law Education Lecture (NSLE). However, you are most welcome to join CCL activities of National Education component, and CCL unit will be granted to you.

A National Education activity that counts for 2 CCL units must be at least 2 hours long. In contrast, a National Education activity that counts for 1 CCL unit should normally last for 1 hour.

The CCL organiser reserves the right to make the final decision on the number of CCL units offered.

The passing rate for the NSLE quiz is 75%. Multiple attempts are allowed, but only the highest score will be recorded and student can attempt the quiz once per day. If a student fails the quiz, they must wait until the following day to try again.

CCL attendance records are normally processed by the organisers within 15 working days after the events. Please contact the CCL organiser if your attendance record has not been updated after the above-mentioned process time.
