Coaching, Organisation Development, and Engagement (CODE) Programme is a series of tailor-made training sessions exclusively designed for officers of student organisations. Its primary goal is to equip students with essential knowledge and practical skills necessary for the development and growth of your student organisation. This 31 May 2024 (Friday), two CCL recognised workshops and an information session capturing all you need to know for planning the orientation activities, enrolment days, and promotion week will be organised specifically for student officers from 1:30 pm – 5 pm (registration starts at 1:15 pm) at Learning Commons AAB 402 K & L. These workshops aim to enhance your management skills and provide valuable insights and smart tips on how to protect your society and support your fellow members effectively.

Workshop I Protect Your Society: Be Financially Responsible The focus of this session is to provide important tips and reminders on seeking sponsorships, purchasing, handling sales agreements, and, most importantly, maintaining accurate and organised financial records for student organisations. Effective record-keeping is vital for ensuring financial transparency and accountability for all members. During this session, student officers will gain the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate financial matters confidently. You will learn best practices for documenting income, expenditures, and financial transactions, ensuring compliance with the newfinancial regulations, and fostering good financial stewardship. Workshop II Becoming a Smart and Professional Student Leader Managing a student society requires a combination of skillsets and student officers will be encountering different scenarios which demand professional handling. Advice on data protection, sexual harassment and equal opportunities as well as real examples relevant to the operations of student organisations will be shared by the trainer. Tips on how to protect your student organisation from falling into any unlawful acts will also be provided. All officers, including cabinets from 2023/24 (current/ongoing) & 2024/25 (ongoing/potential) are cordially invited. Each student organisation is required to send representative(s) to attend the two workshops and the information session. To encourage your participation, student organisations that send representatives to attend the two workshops and the information session, will be eligible for the corresponding number of rewards in the upcoming academic year of 2024/25 as shown in the following table:

Advanced Venue Booking for Student Activities | Student organisations can book ONE venue up to 90 calendar days in advance for ONE of their activities, subject to venue availability. This reward is applicable to venues under the management of SA only. |
Additional Funding Subsidies | Student organisations would be allocated for an additional 30% subsidy of the approved budget, capped at HKD1,500 on top of their entitlement when applying for one of the funding schemes managed by SA for one of their activities. The subsidy will be calculated based on either the number of attendees or the related expenses of the activity conducted by student organisations. The additional subsidy granted will not exceed the amount spent on the activity. Furthermore, it is important for student organisations to adhere to the instructions outlined in the funding schemes. They must also submit their activity reports and supporting documents in a timely manner to qualify for the grant. Application details will be announced to student organisations that have sent representatives to attend the CODE Programme. |

For student organisations that unable to send representatives to attend the workshops, they are required to submit justifications prior to the registration deadline via email. As part of the arrangements, student officers might be invited to attend a series of make-up training sessions.
