Aims

• To assist students in exploring the country’s history, economy, politics, and environment through visits and experience activities
• To enhance students’ understanding of countries along the Belt and Road Initiative

Study Focus

• Connect and communicate with local youth
• Visit Hulunbuir Ancient City (呼倫貝爾古城)
• Visit Hulunbuir Grasslands (呼倫貝爾草原)
• Visit Shiwei Russian Ethnic Township (室韋俄羅斯民族鄉)
• Ewenki Sunflower Handicraft Intangible Heritage Workshop (非遺體驗鄂溫克民族「太陽花」)
• Experience Nomadic Lifestyle and Bonfire Night (進行牧民體驗活動及篝火晚會)

Eligibility

1) Aged between 18 and 29 (must be 18 years old on the departure date) 

2) (i) Hold a valid Hong Kong permanent resident identity card, or (ii) Hold a valid Hong Kong resident identity card and be enrolled in a full-time programme in Hong Kong. 

3) Each participant may join no more than two mainland exchange programmes under *this funding scheme during the current year (2025-2026), regardless of whether they are organised by the same group. 

(*This funding scheme refers to the " Funding Scheme for Youth Exchange in the Mainland " organised by the Youth Development Commission for the current year, 2025-2026.)

• Deadline:   8 March 2026, 23:59 (Sunday)

Screening Interview

• Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a screening interview on 11-17 March 2026.

Fees
 

• HK$7,000/person (Pending approval from Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and Youth Development Commission) (including a refundable deposit of HK$2,000)
  or 
  HK$2500/person^ (^applies only to eligible applicants for the "Pilot Scheme for Subsidy for Underprivileged Youth for Overseas Exchange 基層青年境外交流資助試⾏計劃") (including a refundable deposit of HK$2,000)
• Costs include round trip flight ticket, accommodation, meals, insurances and activities arranged by WLN, excluding visa.
• $2,000 refundable upon full attendance of all the trainings, services, and post-trip activity with satisfactory performance.
• Successful applicants will be notified shortly after the screening interview.
• To indicate the acceptance of offer, the programme fee has be to settle before the given deadline. All fees paid are non-refundable. 

Eligible students may apply for funding support from FGF.

Remark

• This is a CCL-recognised programme. Students who attend on time and complete all activities will receive 2 CCL units (National Education).
