HKBU Joint-College Service Day 2026-27
Introduction
This year, in collaboration with the Student Accommodation Section, a “Joint-College Service Day” will be organised to offer residents of Village CARE opportunities for serving the community.
With the theme "Uni-versal Culture Day", the service day is aiming to provide interesting cultural experience to local families and elderly. Around 150 service beneficaries will be invited to HKBU and join cultural workshops organised by HKBU students, deepening their understanding towards different cultures. At the end, participants and BU students will also co-create an art piece with a theme to promote inclusiveness in the community.
To achieve this goal, we are now looking for students to be our member of organising committee (OCs) and volunteers.

Students' Participation
In the "HKBU Joint-College Service Day 2026-27", students can either participate as Organising Committee Members (OC) or Volunteers. Besides carrying out volunteer services, OC will assist in the overall programme delivery and take up leadership roles during services, while volunteers will be responsible for delivering voluntary services.

HKBU Community Service Day 2026
With the generous support of the Tin Ka Ping Foundation, HKBU Community Service Day 2026 was successfully held on 7 March 2026. The Leadership Qualities Centre of the Office of Student Affairs collaborated with the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children (HKSPC), welcoming approximately 350 families to HKBU for a meaningful service day.
Student leaders took the lead in planning and organising the Service Day. They designed a series of engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs and abilities of toddlers. Highlights included a cardboard maze adventure, magic drama performances, interactive games, and a Chinese kite handicraft workshop.
To support the smooth implementation of the event, 40 HKBU student volunteers were also recruited to assist with the student‑led activities and the service booths organised by HKSPC.
Together, they provided a joyful and unforgettable experience for the beneficiaries, demonstrating the service spirit and leadership skills of HKBU students.
HKBU Community Service Day 2025
The HKBU Community Service Day 2025 was successfully held on March 15. Sponsored by the Tin Ka Ping Foundation, the event aimed to cultivate a spirit of service among students and enhance their leadership skills. Over 100 patients with chronic illnesses and their carers attended the event. It was led by a committee of 12 student organisers and supported by 35 student volunteers. After months of preparation, the students designed a series of themed activities tailored to the needs of the participants, including interactive games, an acupressure workshop, and a handicraft session. The beneficiaries and students also collaborated to create an art piece, expressing their resilience and positive mindset in facing life's challenges. In the end, everyone shared their hopes and well wishes for life with one another.
HKBU Community Service Day 2024
"HKBU Community Service Day 2024 - Serve Tour-gather" was held on 13 April 2024. More than 230 beneficiaries explored HKBU's accessible and inclusive campus. They visited other parts of Hong Kong, receiving services from our student volunteers, who designed and delivered those services to foster their creativity and leadership. Prior to the service day, student volunteers also received trainings and guidances from professional staff from NGOs in March.
Our organising committee recieved the award of "Outstanding Volunteer Team" by the Social Welfare Department, in recognition of their effort and performance in serving different groups of the community.
