Common signs of emotional distress include:
- Depressed mood
- Reduced motivation or interest
- Uncontrollable or excessive crying
- Excessive sense of hopelessness or worthlessness
- High agitation or irritability
- Persistent fatigue
- Thoughts of death or suicide
- Sleeping significantly more than usual or less than usual
- Eating significantly more than usual or less than usual
