[Cultural Ambassador Programme] Celebration of Bengali New Year 1431
The Bengali New Year 1431 (Pohela Boishakh) Celebration took place on 8 April 2024, attracting a turnout of over 70 students, including both local and international participants. The festivities commenced with engaging activities, such as face painting and Henna application, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere. Alongside the celebration, attendees were treated to captivating dance performances and melodious songs, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Bangladesh. To enhance the excitement, three games were organised, including a lively pillow passing activity accompanied by cultural music, present unwrapping, and a Mentimeter quiz focusing on Bengali culture. The event concluded on a high note with a delectable serving of authentic Bangladeshi cuisine, offering a delightful culinary experience for all the guests.
The activity not only fostered teamwork and community development within the Bangladeshi community but also promoted a strong sense of international camaraderie. By extending the invitation to all students, regardless of their cultural background, the celebration provided a platform for individuals from diverse communities to come together, exchange experiences, and forge connections.
