HKBU Alumni Gratitude Scholarship (AGS) 香港浸會大學恩傳獎學金

Introduction

The Scholarship was set up with donations raised by the Village CARE Campaign in 2019.  A group of HKBU alumni pledged a sum donation in support of students with special educational needs (SSEN). The Scholarship represents a way to show the alumni’s gratitude to their alma mater, an encouragement for the next generation of students to thrive in their own way.

Once again, I am very thankful that I can receive the HKBU Alumni Gratitude Scholarship (AGS), and it helped me support myself financially during my full-time social work practice.

Being a final year social work student, I am not able to work part-time jobs as I need to attend the required practicums as it is a part of the compulsory requirement in the social work programme.  Besides, I have very slim financial support from my family. This scholarship played an important role in supporting my daily expenditures and an affirmation of my contribution to volunteering, significantly assisting the students with special needs(SEN).

I will become a registered social worker in Hong Kong in the near future...(more)

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the donor and HKBU USSEN, who let me get the opportunity to be awarded, via this sharing article. Also, I would like to share the benefit that I get from the HKBU Alumni Gratitude Scholarship. With the scholarship, I am able to take the courses that I am interested in, and also widen my knowledge via different chances of learning. Being equipped with all my experience and learning, it will be a milestone for my future career, being an educator.

First, regarding the previous four certificate courses in Counselling for Special Education that I took last year, I aim to...(more)

It is my honour to be granted this scholarship by alumni and other donors in HKBU. To me, tertiary education is not only an academic experience but also the significance of holistic development to students. Although we are facing an uncertain period of Covid-19, we still need to upgrade ourselves.

I have taken part in several service and other activities outside the university, such as an internship in the government department and uniform unit. Those activities have broken my horizon...(more)

I am writing to thank you for your generous HKBU Alumni Gratitude Scholarship (AGS). I was very happy and appreciative to learn that I was selected as the recipient of your scholarship.

I am an Analytical and Testing Science major and French major, who planned to work in a position related to social innovation and business as a force for good. In a few years, I would like to study abroad for my master's degree related to environmental science and innovation. Thanks to you, I am one step closer to that goal.

To be specific, the scholarship allows me to engage more in pro bono work instead of part-time work in my spare time and ...(more)

I am sincerely honoured to have been selected as one of the recipients of the HKBU Alumni Gratitude Scholarship. The scholarship is a solid recognition of my effort and academic achievements during my undergraduate study, motivating me to continue on my journey towards becoming a researcher in the field of Biochemistry. Although I have not yet used the scholarship, I plan to use it for my future study in Europe.

As a science student, I am fond of nature and am curious about the principles behind natural phenomena. In my university years, I have spent every summer in the research laboratory at the Department of Chemistry, Hong Kong Baptist University. These experiences ...(more)
