The Scholarship was set up with donations raised by the Village CARE Campaign in 2019. A group of HKBU alumni pledged a sum donation in support of students with special educational needs (SSEN). The Scholarship represents a way to show the alumni’s gratitude to their alma mater, an encouragement for the next generation of students to thrive in their own way.
For the 2021/22 academic year, up to 10 AGS of HK$15,000 each will be available to recognize the SSEN in pursuit of excellence in academic, non-academic merits and improvement in academic performance. The scholarship is now open for application, please click here for more details.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government has established the Endeavour Merit Award (EMA) to give recognition to deserving post-secondary students with special educational needs (SSEN) in the pursuit of excellence in academic and other areas.
For the 2021/22 academic year, up to 9 EMA of HK$15,000 each will be available for eligible HKBU students. Please clilck here for more details.

AIA Foundation offers scholarships to local Year 1 students who are studying at Hong Kong universities every year. For academic year 2021/22, there are 8 awards for HKBU students. Up to 16 eligible candidates will be nominated for final selection by AIA Foundation.
The AIA Scholarship is designed to finance an awardee’s tuition fees. The value of each AIA Scholarship will be HK$50,000 per annum, payable each year during the awardee’s undergraduate programme. It is anticipated that most applicants will be undertaking a four year undergraduate programme. However, subject to the Foundation’s absolute discretion, students nominated by the University who are enrolled in 5 or 6 year undergraduate programmes will be entitled to receive an AIA Scholarship for each year of their nominated undergraduate programme (subject to satisfaction of the Scholarship Renewal Criteria).

Scholarships15 NOV 2021 - 14 JAN 2022
In order to encourage students to develop their talents in other areas in addition to their academic study, the Talent Development Scholarship (TDS) was established by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government to give recognition to students who have demonstrated achievement or talent in non-academic areas and provide support for them to further develop their talent and potential. For 2021/22, up to 150 TDS awards at HK$10,000 each will be awarded to current full-time local and non-local undergraduate students studying in any discipline (UGC-funded programmes only). The Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme (HKSES) aims to support local students to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies at world renowned universities outside Hong Kong (i.e. during the period of August 2022 to July 2023), with a view to grooming a top cadre of talents with global vision, international network and world-class education, thereby contributing to enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness as Asia’s World City in a globalised knowledge economy. The scheme also seeks to support those students who have excellent academic achievement but lack the financial means to study at top-notch universities outside Hong Kong.
