Community Outreach Programme @ East Java, Indonesia

Indonesia East Java Community Outreach Programme is an inter-discipline educational activity set to give a learning experience to the students by living in the community to give respond to the actual social life and help the community development problems.

The programme is expected not only a community service, but also a two-way learning process. Students from different universities in Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Singapore, the Netherlands and Indonesia, will apply their knowledge to meet the needs of the society and they can learn from the community as well.

The missions of this program are :

• Help students understand that higher education is not an inseparable institution from the community, whose mission is applying science, technology and arts in real life.
• Provide a learning experience to the students by placing them in the community – where COP is located, to help solving the problems of local development.
• Increase students intellectual capacity in doing research, analysis and scientific problems solving in building dynamic society.
• Provide a learning experience for students to be a capable communicator in various social level and cultural background.

Service Content: Renovation of Community Infrastructure, Interaction with local people, Voluntary Teaching, Cultural activity, etc
Deadline of Application: 16 Feb 2020

Training Workshop: March to May 2019
Post Trip Presentation: 3 Sept 2020
Programme Fee*: $8,000HKD + $500 Refundable Deposit

Remarks:
1. Programme fee includes air-ticket, meal, accomodation, local transportation.
2. The deposit would be refunded upon completion of the programme.
3. Participants should have 100% attendance rate, as well as handing in a programme report and feedback form in order to complete the programme. 
4. Students should apply for absence in advance (at least 3 days prior) with valid reasons.
5. The depature and return dates of the outbound trip will have +/- 2 days difference, subject to the finalized flight schedule.
