Eligibility

  1. This application is only applicable to residents of Dr. Ng Tor Tai International House (“NTTIH”) in the academic year 2024-25.
  2. Capacity of the student residence is limited and bed space offer is allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Any late application will not be considered unless bed space is still available.
  3. Application approval will be subject to room availability or other considerations. Submission of the application form does not guarantee that a bed space offer can be granted.

Fees and Payment

Paid fees (except Caution Money) are non-refundable and non-transferable.  Failure to pay the fees on time or using improper payment method will result in forfeiture of the bed space offer.

Caution Money

Caution money paid for the current residence will be automatically carried forward to the Summer Residence.

Payment Methods

Lodging Fee debit note will be posted in the BUniPort. Please make sure you have input:

1. Bill type, and
2. Debit note number

during your payment process. Direct transfer of money to University bank account is NOT considered as successful payment. Please click HERE for detailed payment methods. You should keep good custody of the payment record and be able to present it upon request.

Deferred payment of Lodging Fees is not acceptable. Subject to special prior approval, a penalty of HK$300 will be levied on students who pay the Lodging Fees after the deadline.

Check-in and Room Relocation

Assigned to Original Room

Residents are required to bring his/her Room Card to G/F reception of NTTIH during the following period for summer residence enrollment arrangement.

Assigned to Another Room

Residents are required to relocate to another room on or before 27 Jun 2025 for summer residence.  However, to speed up the relocation process, Front Desk may notify residents for early room relocation if the designated room is available before 27 Jun 2025. Residents are thus required to relocate to the designated room by the new room relocation deadline.

To complete the Room Relocation procedures, residents MUST complete the following steps by the room relocation deadline. 

  1. Remove all your belongings from the existing room.  Following that, you are required to call Front Desk at ext. “0”.  Our representative will then go to your existing room to conduct check-out procedure with you.
  2. Upon completion of check-out procedure, you are required to return room card, writing desk key and mailbox key of your previous room to Front Desk, and
  3. Collect room card, writing desk key and mailbox key of the new room.

Late Room Relocation Surcharge

  1. If you are NOT able to complete the room relocation in person, you should submit room relocation authorization form at least two working days in advance of the room relocation deadline.
  2. If you fail to complete the room relocation by the specified deadline, you shall be charged for a penalty of late room relocation (HK$500) on top of the full lodging fee for occupying two bed spaces, i.e. the currently occupied and the newly designated bed spaces, from the day after the deadline of room relocation until the end of the summer lodging period.
  3. Any surcharge or penalty for late room relocation will be deducted from the caution money.  Anything left behind in your existing room will also be disposed of and neither the University nor the management of Student Residences will be responsible for any loss or damage of personal belongings arising from such action.

 

Check-out Arrangement by End of Summer Residence

Check-out procedures are available HERE. A resident who fails to check out by the last day of the committed lodging period shall be liable to pay a daily penalty charge for late check-out, on top of the extra daily lodging fee for the days for staying at the student residence after the check-out date.
