Both undergraduate students (UG) and postgraduate students (PG) of UGC-funded programs are eligible to apply for living in Village CARE. This arrangement offers the opportunity for UG and PG to reside together in the Colleges and learn from each other as neighbors.

In Village CARE, each Block serves as the residence for a specific Residential College (College). Each College is guided by a theme that complements the academic study with the designated learning outcomes. These 4 themes are designed to offer a well-rounded living-learning environment to College members, with the aim of enhancing their academic pursuits.

  1. Arts and Culture (學尚雅)
  2. Purpose-driven innovative business and entrepreneurial mindset (義日新)
  3. Sportsmanship and Wellness (強志剛)
  4. Community services leadership  (德臻善 )

The first Chinese word of each College theme comes from the University motto ― 篤信力行 (Faith and Perseverance).

In the 2024/25 academic year, the allocation of rooms will be based on meeting the accommodation needs of students first. The implementation of specific themes for each College (Block) will take place at a later time.

On each floor, there will be communal cooking facilities available in the Co-living Space, which includes electric ovens and shared refrigerators. Each shared pantry in the Apartment will also have these facilities. Residents are welcome to use these provisions for cooking purposes. However, it is important to note that cooking inside individual rooms is not allowed. Furthermore, the Co-living Space is equipped with shared facilities such as air-conditioners, televisions, and water dispensers for residents to use.

Within each Unit/Apartment, there will be shared restrooms and shower facilities. The design of separate shower cubicles, toilets, and washing basins has been implemented in Village CARE. Moreover, each room within a Unit will be furnished with an air-conditioner and a mini refrigerator.

Regarding utilities, the "user-pay principle" is applied, meaning residents are responsible for covering the costs associated with energy usage within their Units/Apartments. To facilitate this, residents will have access to the Energy Payment System kiosks, located outside the laundry rooms, which allows them to top up their energy balance and view their current balance. It is important to maintain an adequate balance as the air-conditioner, electric water heater, refrigerator, and sockets will not operate without sufficient funds in the energy balance.

Washing machines and dryers are available in the Laundry Rooms on the 9/F (South & East Blocks) and the 14/F (North & West Blocks; will be available later). Residents can make use of these shared facilities to do their laundry. If any abnormalities are noticed, please report them immediately to the G4 Service Counter of Undergraduate Halls or G/F security counter of Village CARE.

As a reference, drying around 6kg of clothes usually takes 40-60 minutes, depending on the clothing type. Thicker clothing, jeans, and blankets may require a longer drying time.

Each bed is equipped with a fire-resistant mattress. The bed mattress size is around 1.9m (L) x 0.9m (W).

For postgraduate students, there is a very high chance that they can extend their residence in Village CARE for an additional month after completing the standard 11-month residence period, subject to availability and except any unforeseen circumstances. The lodging fee for this extra month will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.

According to the lastest update from the Estates Office, construction work at the Jockey Club Campus of Creativity is still ongoing and is expected to be fully completed by 2025. During this initial phase, only certain sections of the Campus will be accessible, while noise and other disturbances may continue to impact all Blocks of Village CARE from time to time. Nevertheless, as time passes, the situation is expected to improve gradually.
