HKBU Awards for Global Vision

Scholarships

The HKBU Awards for Global Vision was established to support students to broaden their global vision and exposure through participating in international competitions, conferences, performances or festivals as delegates of the University. The Awards also help raise the University’s profile by having more students demonstrating their academic or co-curricular talents and achievements in the international arena.

ELIGIBILITY

The HKBU Awards for Global Vision, which normally ranges from HK$5,000 to HK$10,000 each, will be awarded to current full-time local and non-local undergraduate students studying in any discipline (UGC-funded programmes only) who:

(a) have been successfully selected or recommended by a HKBU Department or Office to represent HKBU to participate in one of the following events to be held in Mainland China or Overseas Countries. Past activities or events are NOT eligible. The activity should NOT be course-required or graduation-tied. It must be organized or endorsed by an HKBU Department or Office:

  • competitions
  • conferences in which participants are required to have paper/poster presentations

Due to limited number of awards, it is not guaranteed that an applicant will be awarded even if he/she has fulfilled the above-mentioned eligibility. All applications will be assessed by an internal selection panel based on the activity nature and scale, recommendation of Department/Office, as well as the availability of funding. The amount of award granted to successful applicants is subject to the destination and length of the activity, as well as the fee and expense paid by applicants.

Events/Activities with other sources of financial support may not be considered or will be considered at a lower priority. Applicants will not be awarded the Mr. & Mrs. Ho Ting Sik Scholarship concurrently for the same event/activity.
