Learning clarinet is a good start to learning music. I have not learned any musical instrument before, it is the first time I take such a course. The reason why I choose clarinet is that it is easy to handle and the price is relatively cheap. It is not that troublesome to maintain the student model in plastic. The price is manageable, compared to other classical instruments. Clarinet is a great choice for beginners like me.

Learning music can calm me down. It is a good way to release stress from the academic pressures and career worries, particularly for year four students. It is a good way to explore some potentials interest. Besides, it gives me a sense of confidence. When I finish to play a full song, it somehow gives me a sense of achievement. At least I have accomplished something in addition to academic studies. It is especially important when I feel frustrated in my life and studies.

Learning music is beneficial to social life. It helps further extend the interpersonal relationship. The cultivation of art and music is a symbol of educated and civilized men. It is also an interesting topic to talk with friend. At least, when other people are talking about musical stuff, I can make certain response.

In the future, I wish I can keep learning the clarinet, even after my bachelor study. Ideally, I seek to participate in ABRSM exam, for the sake of certificate and credentials. But the course fee and tightened time schedule at work would be influential to it. All in all, I am grateful to this scheme which assists me to explore my potential in other fields. The clarinet learning provided me with intellectual gains, interpersonal relationship development and stress release.
