Barrier-free Discovery Tour Seoul
The Barrier-free Discovery Tour offers students a unique opportunity to experience inclusiveness and accessibility in Seoul. Successful applicants will attend a briefing/training session before departure. After the 5-day-4-night tour in Seoul, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their projects to impact the BU community.

Highlights of the Tour in Seoul
- Exchange with the Seoul National University
- SEN experiential learning activities and company/NGO visit

Eligibility (meeting ALL requirements below)
- Current full-time HKBU students studying UGC-funded undergraduate programmes
- Students declared with SEN, ISAs or MHFACs
- Aged over 18 by the time of travel
- Holder of a valid passport that is allowed to enter Seoul, South Korea with validity till 31 July 2025
Coverage of the Tour
- Roundtrip group air ticket between Hong Kong and Seoul (standard economy class), taxes and surcharges
- Hotel accommodation in Seoul (2 participants of the same gender will share a room)
- Local shuttle bus service in Seoul (except for self-arranged group activities)
- Meals in Seoul (except for self-arranged group activities)
- Programme fees, admission tickets and tour guide service charges (except for self-arranged group activities)
- Student travel insurance provided by the University (please purchase separate plans if extra protection is needed.)
*Visa application (if applicable) is to be arranged by participants.
*Other expenditures not mentioned above are at the participants’ own expense.
Tour fee
Free-of-charge (A refundable deposit of HK$2,500 will be collected by cheque upon confirmation of offer acceptance. The deposit will be refunded to participants who complete all the components of the Tour and fulfil the required obligations.)
Notes to Applicants
- The Organiser reserves the right to decline any participant whose health conditions are perceived as interfering with the safety of the individual or the group. In that case, the participant should bear the consequential costs of any risks that may be created, directly or indirectly.
- For the case of travelling with a caregiver, s/he shall be responsible for his/her own travelling expenses & liability.
- Participants must depart from and return to Hong Kong as a team on assigned dates of the Tour. The Organiser will not certify the completion of Tour to the participants who withdraw from the Tour, which will result in no refund of the deposit.
- Terms and conditions of the travel insurance provided by the University are available here (Menu bar “For Students” > “Information”> “Insurance Summary Valid from 1/7/2024 to 30/6/2025” > “Personal Overseas Trips Insurance Summary - Student Only - (Zurich: TTT0001125ZC)). Please purchase a separate insurance plan if extra protection is needed.
