Kai Tak New Development Area is a huge and highly complex development project in the urban area of Hong Kong, transforming the ex-Airport site for future residential and commercial developments and at the same time giving an impetus to stimulate the regeneration of the adjoining older districts. The Kai Tak Outline Zoning Plan is formulated under the theme of developing Kai Tak into a green and tourism hub to meet the public aspirations for a low-carbon and people-oriented area fronting the Victoria Harbour. The walking tour, guided by a professional town planner, will cover some of the signature features of the area including:
- Kai Tak Station Square - a new design of public open space
- Kai Tak River Upgrading Works and Desilting Compound -a blue-green infrastructure"
- Kai Tak Grid Neighbourhood - an example of a new-generation urban design
- Kai Tak District Cooling System - paving the way to low-carbon emission
- Kai Tak Sky Garden and Runway Park - a key breezeway and jogging trail for a healthier lifestyle

Refundable Fee: $100 (refundable after completion of tour)
