This module overviews the evolution of Eastern political and public theologies from the time of Eusebius through the Panorthodox council in Crete in 2016. It begins with the definitions of and distinctions between political and public theologies. Then it explores the dialectics of the relationship between the church, the state, and the public square. It explains the differences between centrifugal and centripetal Orthodox political theologies.
