This talk is co-organized by the HKBU Century Club and the Department of Physics at HKBU, aiming to deepen participants' understanding of the importance of energy to our daily lives and society. We will introduce the current and future development of green energy in China, including solar energy, wind energy, and hydrogen energy. Additionally, this year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Deng Jiaxian (鄧稼先), hailed as the " Patron of the Two Bombs and One Star," a prominent Chinese theoretical physicist and nuclear physicist who made significant contributions to the development of China's nuclear weapons and hydrogen bombs. The talk will also cover the current development of nuclear energy, exploring the basic scientific principles of nuclear energy and distinguishing between atomic bombs and nuclear power generation.
