The China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) was launched amid China’s Second Demographic Transition, coinciding with growing academic interest in family research.
The CFPS has several distinctive design features that enhance its capacity to investigate family dynamics and the interconnected lives of family members.
Examples of CFPS applications come from my prior research on young adults' residential independence, parental views on inequality affecting children's education, and family structure's role in child development.
The CFPS will incorporate additional topics to better capture emerging phenomena related to family issues in contemporary China.
