Sharing of Scholarship Recipients - LI Pak Hei

Being honored to receive this scholarship has truly been a milestone in my university journey, and no words can express my gratitude for this financial support. Not only does it relieve my financial burdens, but it also supports me in exploring future interests and career pathways.

Part of this scholarship fund will be used to pay for the hall fees for the next semester, alleviate my daily commuting time to school by one and a half hours. As a student with SEN, I am dedicated to exploring educational opportunities and am keen to support other students with SEN in identifying and pursuing their interests. Specifically, it allows me to enroll in several internships—without financial concerns—that align with my interest in nature and teaching others. This has enriched my personal growth and offered me  valuable insight into my future career.

During this period, this support has provided me with some of the most valuable experiences of my life. As one of the first students to pursue a transdisciplinary second major, I have had the opportunity to connect with students from other faculties and even apply the transdisciplinary approach in exploring and finding potential solutions to real-life crises, such as the stigmatisation towards the Registration Card for People with Disabilities. Moreover, being one of the winning teams in the HKBU Role Reimagine Competition has not only equipped me with the vision to understand the markets in the era of big data and AI, but has also given me the chance to meet some new friends from different backgrounds, truly enriching my university journey.

Yet, all journeys come with challenges, and for me, they are time management and maintaining a healthier lifestyle. In the future, these obstacles can be addressed with the utilization of scheduling tools, and hopefully, by turning my past weaknesses into a helping hand to others.

Looking ahead, being awarded this scholarship has shaped my vision for the future in pursuing a higher degree and collaborating with different stakeholders in the future to solve problems in our society and the globe. This scholarship is not merely financial support for my studies, but proof that everyone can make a difference. Thanks again for giving me such a memorable time in my university life, and I am committed to paying this generosity forward through my future contributions to the community.
