Sharing of Scholarship Recipients - LEUNG Ho Yeung

I felt honored and grateful when I heard that I had received the HKBU Alumni Gratitude Scholarship. This scholarship is not only a material help but also an encouragement that strengthens my faith in exploring my interests and talents. I would like to sincerely thank the Village CARE Campaign and the generous alumni who provided this scholarship for inspiring me to pursue my passions in softball and media production.

As a communication student and sports enthusiast, I have aimed to become a director who produces short films while representing the HKBU softball team in inter-university competitions. However, due to financial constraints, I could only focus on my studies instead of exploring personal interests or acquiring additional skills. Thankfully, the AGS scholarship has provided me with a valuable opportunity to develop an area of interest that I have always been passionate about.

This scholarship helped me address some urgent needs during the latter part of my second semester, whether for extracurricular or course-related activities. For instance, many multimedia projects during this semester required shooting with a telephoto lens. Additionally, as the upcoming inter-university softball competition was about to begin, I urgently needed professional training equipment to optimize my athletic performance.

In view of this, I planned to use the scholarship funds to purchase personal training equipment, which allows me to improve my pitching skills with external mechanical assistance. Furthermore, I used half of the funds to purchase a camera lens for creative purposes, enabling me to capture stunning sports moments from a distance. This lens has been effectively utilized in my second documentary, "From Mil-Sim Enthusiast to Counter-Terrorism Response Unit: The Journey of Jadis."

The HKBU Alumni Gratitude Scholarship has greatly supported my development in extracurricular and interest-based activities. It has provided a financial foundation to foster my pursuits in sports and creativity, allowing me to explore opportunities that were previously out of reach due to financial limitations.
