CHEUNG Yan Yi, Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Humanities
I am truly honoured to receive the HKBU Alumni Gratitude Scholarship (AGS). This recognition validates my academic efforts and provides essential support as I pursue my personal and professional growth. Thegrant will significantly aid me in achieving my goals and navigating challenges along the way.
The scholarship will primarily support my ongoing certifications as a Pilates and Muay Thai instructor, as well as my enrollment in the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) course at the HKFYG Continuous Learning Centre. These certifications and training programs are crucial for my career aspirations in the fitness, wellness, and mental health fields. The funds will cover course fees, training materials, and equipment, allowing me to focus on mastering these skills without financial strain.
With the support of this scholarship, I am confident that I will successfully complete my Pilates and Muay Thai certifications, as well as the CBT course, by the end of 2025. These qualifications will not only enhance my professional profile but also enable me to contribute to the community by promoting physical and mental well-being. The CBT training will equip me with the skills to help individuals manage stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges, complementing my work in fitness and wellness.
Additionally, receiving this scholarship has motivated me to maintain high academic standards and strive for excellence in all areas of my life. One challenge I face is balancing my academic responsibilities with my certification training. While I am dedicated, I sometimes struggle with time management and prioritizing tasks. To address this, I have begun using productivity tools and setting clear daily goals.
Ultimately, I aspire to establish a wellness center that combines physical training with mental health support, creating a holistic approach to well-being and contributing positively to society.
This scholarship has alleviated financial pressure and inspired me to dream bigger and work harder. I look forward to giving back to the HKBU community by sharing my journey and contributing to the university’s legacy of excellence. Thank you for believing in me and supporting my aspirations.
