The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: CareER Thriving Grass Career Development Programme 2025 is now open for enrolment!
 

Thriving Grass Programme offers a unique internship programme that opens doors to valuable opportunities with a diverse range of inclusive employers. Participants will have the chance to intern with multinational corporations, local conglomerates, SMEs, startups, and NGOs, all within a nurturing and inclusive environment. This programme is tailored to help members build essential skills and kickstart their careers on a solid foundation of support by CareER.

Are you ready to take your career to new heights? We are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming workshop series "Kickstart Your Career: Job Application Strategies That Work." This series will cover essential topics such as researching companies and job trends, perfecting your self-introduction, building a strong personal brand, and discussing disability accommodations professionally.

Each workshop participant MUST enroll individually by the deadline of 28th February.

Walk-ins are welcome to network with our inclusive employers from various industries. However, registering in advance will enable us to match you with potential job opportunities available at the career fair.

  1. Register for the Career Fair: https://forms.office.com/r/vwNLiQ49EF (If already registered, you can skip this step.)
  2. Submit an updated CV: If you have an updated CV or are new to WISE, please submit your resume to Christy.ting@wiseemployment.com.hk after completing the registration form. (If you have already done this, skip this step)
  3. Indicate Job Interests: Please email Christy at the same email address provided above to express your interest in the job(s) you wish to apply for. We will arrange on-site interviews for shortlisted candidates. It is important to select your preferred positions thoughtfully, as WISE and the employers will conduct the screening process. Please note that the number of on-site interview slots is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis for suitable profiles. We encourage you to register and share your job preferences with us as soon as possible!  

All steps must be completed by February 19, 2025. Shortlisted students will be informed later about the interview arrangement.

Project Name: 

Jockey Club Collaborative Project for Inclusive Employment – ‘Diversity Works’: Internship Portal for Youth with SEN 

 

Project Objectives: 
  • To enhance the employability of the participants through internship and training
  • To prepare the participants with widen perspectives for learning and working
  • To enhance the understanding of young adults with SEN among tertiary institutions, employers and the public

 

Program/Service Highlights: 
  • Job exploration: The participants will explore different industries, working positions and career options to gain market insights and experiences. The employers and project staff will support participants to get prepared for developing various sets of skills such as team communication and cooperation skills.
  • Internship: The participants will be given internship opportunities to work for various agencies. It provides a real-life working environment to learn workplace culture, interpersonal skills and working strategy. Internship will be arranged based on the participant’s assessment results, portfolio and learning goals to make a suitable matching.
  • Demonstration Centre: The demonstration centre is a work station with various work settings and controllable equipment. It provides participants an individualized environment for job training, assessment and accommodation strategy.
  • Internship Matching and On-site support: Tailor-made matching services will be initiated to ensure suitable candidates with related talent fitting into corresponding employers. Based on the unique corporation needs, we provide professional consultation and support for business partners such as staff training and collaborative discussion for workplace modification and accommodation plans.
