The 3rd Mandarin Singing Contest Grand Final & Ceremony

The event aims to raise HKBU students’ incentive to learn Putonghua, and students (both audience and contestants) who join the event will be able to learn the accurate pronunciation and expression of lyrics in Putonghua. Furthermore, the event is for both local and non-local students, since there are categories for Chinese Native Speakers & Non-Chinese Speakers, so it will enhance cultural integration in the University.

Moreover, we have two external guest judges, Dr. May Mei (Mandopop Lyricist, Associate Professor of Hong Kong Chu Hai College) and Ms. Jenny Wang (Violinist & Director of Shenzhen Poly International Youth String Orchestra). Both of them are expert in singing performance and music and they will give comments on the performance of contestants and give a brief public lecture on the skills of singing to audience. Students are able to learn something which cannot be found from the ordinary courses and textbooks.
