The CityU-HKBU joint lecture series VI "Pair Talks on Art Histories", aims to connect Hong Kong-based scholars in art with those in Europe, the United States, and mainland China and to facilitate interactions and conversations.
This lecture with the theme of "Art and Disability in Early Modern China and Europe", will be featuring two scholars with two different topics:
1. "Seeing the Invisible: Micro-art-histories and Social Perceptions of Disability in Early Modern Europe",
by Dr. Angelo Lo Conte, Academy of Visual Arts, School of Creative Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University
2. "The Creation of Disability Art and Aesthetics in Eighteenth-Century Yangzhou",
by Dr. Yun-chen Lu, History of Art and Architecture, College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, DePaul University
