This lecture discusses the Environmental Protection Department's (EPD) efforts to improve waste management through policy implementation, community engagement, and smart recycling initiatives, aiming to support the "Recycle Right, Reward More" initiative. It will cover three main areas:
1. An overview of Hong Kong's holistic strategy for community recycling support that addresses and facilitates preparation for the impending Municipal Solid Waste Charging (MSWC) scheme, set to commence in August 2024.
2. The role of the GREEN@COMMUNITY and Green Outreach programs in heightening public awareness and encouraging behavioral change for better waste management.
