Up Close Dialogue with Music & Musicians: Chiu Tung Tse

In 2011, a primary school child in Nanking published a poem entitled “Mama, I’m under tremendous pressure” 《媽媽，我壓力好大》on the internet. This poem caught the attention of a then undergraduate student ChinTung Tse 謝芊彤 in Hong Kong and inspired her to compose a melody for the poem. She recorded the song with her sister and posted it on YouTube, which immediately attracted much attention with a click-through rate of over a million within a short time. In this Up-close Dialogue, ChinTung will share with us her creativity as well as her musical career as a singer-songwriter.

About ChinTung Tse 謝芊彤
ChinTung has already made her name on YouTube while being an undergraduate student. Since graduating from Hong Kong Shue Yan University, she has worked as an independent songwriter. She often writes songs in Mandarin and is much inspired by social issues. She firmly believes that music changes the world. Her song “Confession” 《告白》, composed for Kary Ng, was awarded the “Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Award” organized by the RTHK in 2012. Since 2013, ChinTung has started performing with her sister as a duet. In 2018, they formed the group “The Absent Brother” 「雷同二友」and released their EP 《Metabolism》in 2019. Recently, they performed with Terence Lam 林家謙in a MOOV Digital Concert which was highly received.
