My time as an Inclusion Student Ambassador has been nothing short of transformative. These experiences have profoundly shaped my understanding of accessibility and empathy.

One of the most rewarding moments was having the opportunity to set up a booth in university. My booth, titled "A Moment in the Dark," was designed to raise awareness for the daily experiences of individuals with visual impairments. Through collaboration with the SEN Support Department, participants wore sight-limiting goggles and attempted simple tasks—identifying objects, zipping jackets, and writing short sentences—within a limited time. The overwhelming difficulty most participants faced underscored a vital truth: accommodations are not privileges but fundamental necessities that empower every individual to contribute as valuable members of society.

Equally impactful was the Barrier-Free Tour I attended in Malaysia over the winter break. Visiting cultural and religious sites alongside fellow Inclusive Student Ambassadors and Mental Health First Aid Captains was a masterclass in empathy. The highlight was Dialogue in the Dark—an exercise that moved theory into feeling and reshaped my understanding of perception and communication. The tour cemented that accessibility must be proactive, not an afterthought; environments built with empathy from the start create better experiences for everyone.

These experiences have also significantly strengthened my role as an EOC Youth Ambassador. Through the Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassadors Scheme (EOYAS) 2025/26, I had the privilege of visiting Mind Space to better understand mental health challenges, participating in a blind-folded sporting activity with athletes with disabilities to build empathy through shared experience, and attending an Anti-Sexual Harassment Workshop that empowered me to become an active bystander. I also carried out a promotional project to spread anti-sexual harassment messages on campus and explored Hong Kong's rich diversity through a Multicultural Community Tour. Each activity reinforced that inclusion is not a standalone effort but a collective responsibility that begins with understanding and action.

Together, these experiences have equipped me with firsthand insights to advocate more effectively for equal opportunities. I now carry forward a deeper commitment to fostering inclusive spaces wherever I go.

Being an Inclusive Student Ambassador was an extremely meaningful opportunity, and I look forward to continuing this important work in the coming academic year.
