Important notes for recruiting units
  1. All full-time undergraduates (local and non-local), full-time postgraduates (local and non-local) and full-time sub-degree students (local only) should not be engaged for more than 12 hours per week during term time.  
  2. According to the Human Resources Office’s guidelines on student helpers, the hourly pay rates for student helpers should be set at a fixed pay range HK$70-$96 with effect from 1 September 2024. For more details, please refer to “The University's Policy regarding the Employment of Student Helpers on Campus”.
  3. A student helper will be enrolled in the University’s Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme, unless he/she is an exempt person as stipulated in the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance.
  4. Students must log in to WHOS and check the balance of working hours before they accept a student helper job.
  5. A hiring staff MUST check the work permit of a student helper before he/she starts working to ensure his/her eligibility.

Student Helper Weekly Working Hours Operating System (WHOS)
  1. Before accepting any student helper job offer, students should log in and check the balance of working hours in the Student Helper Weekly Working Hours Operating System (WHOS).
  2. All full-time undergraduates (local and non-local), full-time postgraduates (local and non-local) and full-time sub-degree students (local only) would be eligible to undertake part-time work on campus for not more than 12 hours per week (Sunday to Saturday).
