Start-up Saturday provides students with opportunities for entrepreneurship through start-up consultation, seed funding, mentoring, and more. Applicant teams will attend the final presentation, and winning teams will receive seed funds and access to external incubation programmes and funding schemes.
 

Theme for the Startup Contest:
 "Project with Care"

Welcoming any project ideas that demonstrate a sense of care, empathy, and responsibility.
 


Winning team(s) will each receive:
  • Seed Funding (up to HKD 30,000)*:
    This crucial early-stage funding can help launch your startup and cover initial expenses.

  • Free Startup Consultation and Skills Training: 
    Expert advice and training can help you develop essential business skills and refine your strategy.

  • Incubation and Mentorship Opportunities: 
    Incubation programs provide resources, workspace, and mentorship to accelerate your startup's growth. Mentorship offers guidance and support from experienced entrepreneurs.

    *Subject to the judging panel's final decision and on a reimbursement basis.

Final Presentation (5 April 2025)

Eligible or shortlisted teams will be invited to present their business ideas on 5 April 2025.
Each team will be given 5 minutes to present (any preferred language in English, Cantonese or Putonghua), followed by a 5 minutes Q&A session.

 

 
How to Apply?

1) Form a team with at least 2 team members.

2) Each team must have at least 1 HKBU student. He/she must be the Person-in-Charge in the team.

3) Each HKBU student in the startup teams must complete one training course from Entrepreneurial Learning Series (before application submission).

4) Complete the online application form HERE along with the Team List and Business Plan ppt(not more than 12 slides)*
