A student team from the Division of Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Programmes has achieved outstanding results on the national stage! The team, composed of TANG Canyu, FENG Hoi Lam, WU Guo, WONG Hei Wang, and KWOK Tak Ming (all Year 2 students), has been awarded the 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 “𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗽” 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 with their innovative project “Eye Mirror”. 🌟
The “Challenge Cup” attracted over 400,000 projects from more than 2,700 universities and colleges, involving more than 3 million students. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region delegation comprised only the most outstanding projects from local institutions, with just 11 teams selected to advance to the National Finals. Our HKBU team's project “EyeMirror”, a portable home vision testing device, demonstrated strong innovation and practical value during the rigorous closed-door presentation and defence sessions, earning recognition from the judges and securing this honour for the Hong Kong team.
🤝 The competition was coordinated locally by the Hong Kong New Generation and Cultural Association. The HKBU Career Centre actively promoted the event and provided full support to the team, reflecting the University’s commitment to fostering student innovation and practical experience. It is also worth noting that this team previously won the “Start-up Saturday” competition organised by the HKBU Career Centre, securing seed funding and incubation support to further develop their project. The latest national award further validates the innovative potential and application prospects of their work, this success vividly illustrates the strengths and outcomes of transdisciplinary education.🚀
