[About the Speakers]

Mr. Ray Yeung 楊曜愷先生
Filmmaker, Executive Director of HKLGFF

Ray Yeung is a prominent Hong Kong filmmaker with four feature films to his credit. His latest work, All Shall Be Well《從今以後》, premiered at the 2024 Berlinale International Film Festival, where it won the prestigious Teddy Award and secured third place in the Panorama Audience Award.

His previous film, Suk Suk《叔·叔》, debuted at the Busan International Film Festival in 2019 and was showcased again at Berlinale in 2020. Both films garnered nominations for Best Film at the Taiwan Golden Horse Awards and the Hong Kong Film Awards. 

In 2021, Ray was honored as Artist of the Year (Film) by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Since 2000, he has served as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, actively promoting LGBTQ+ cinema.  
 

Mr. Stan Guingon
Board Member and Short Film Curator of HKLGFF

Stan Guingon is a producer of independent feature and short films. His producing credits include FRONT COVER (2016) and MUKBANG MASARAP (2019), and he served as executive producer on WHERE THERE IS NO EXIT (2018), the groundbreaking Hong Kong film SUK SUK (2019), and ALL SHALL BE WELL (2024).

He is also a film curator for the Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (HKLGFF), where he selects diverse and compelling films for the festival programme and works closely with filmmakers, distributors and sales agents. His responsibilities include coordinating film materials for promotion, censorship and screening, as well as hosting pre-screening introductions and post-screening Q&As.

[About the Moderator]

Dr. Ava Lau 劉肇薇博士
Lecturer, FASS WHD Department of Social Work, HKBU

Ava teaches and researches on children and youth, gender, community development and social policy. She is known for her research and publications in the fields of social work and community-based research. Apart from her contribution to academia, Ava is an agency administrator working with a diverse population in the community. She is also a registered social worker and has experience in organising experiential learning activities in local schools.
