[About the Speaker]

Ms. Barbara Kung-Pik Tang 鄧拱璧女士

Producer & Performer

Ms. Tang is a veteran coordinator and producer for a variety of performances, including fashion shows, exhibitions, Cantonese operas, concerts, beauty pageants, and outdoor variety shows. She has also worked as a columnist and host for popular radio programmes.

In recent years, Ms. Tang has focused on organising large-scale stage productions both locally and internationally. With her extensive knowledge of Cantonese opera and deep understanding of the industry, she is devoted to promoting and advancing Cantonese and Chinese opera in Hong Kong and beyond. She is frequently invited by major local and international organisations to produce programmes for festivals and annual cultural events.

Fluent in English, Ms. Tang has been invited by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) for the past 15 years to serve as host and explain Cantonese opera makeup and costume dressing to audiences—both local and overseas—at the annual Cantonese Opera Day.
