Full-time UGC-funded non-local postgraduate and undergraduate students are eligible to apply for the University accommodation in accordance with the Housing Policy. Application approval of student residence is subject to the University’s Admission Criteria governing application for student residence and bed space availability. Submission of application form does not guarantee that offer of bed space can be granted. |
Full-time Non-local Undergraduate Students
Eligibility
- UGC-funded full-time non-local undergraduate students will be provided with hostel places in the University accommodation in their first year of studies.
- In their second year of studies, students can apply for the University accommodation, subject to availability.
- No University accommodation will be provided starting from their third year of studies .
Notes:

Non-local undergraduate students who are recipients of a Full Admissions Scholarship will be provided with the University accommodation throughout their studies. This is not applicable to recipients who have been denied renewal of their scholarships by the University Scholarship Committee.

Different accommodation packages and fees will apply according to the availability of hostel places in the University accommodation.
*A successful applicant will receive an email notification. He / She should follow the instruction and indicate his / her acceptance of the bed space. If he / she fails to respond before the specified deadline by settling the accommodation fee and associated fees (i.e. caution money and student activity annual fee), the bed space offer will automatically be forfeited.
Financial Assistance - Housing Subsidy Scheme
UGC-funded full-time non-local undergraduate students who are offered bed space of NTTIH with proven financial hardship may apply for housing subsidies. Applicants’ academic achievement and contribution to the university will be considered. Submission of application form with supporting documents is required.

Each applicant will receive a notification by e-mail individually. It is the applicants’ responsibility to check their emails for their application results:

a) Successful Applicants
Successful applicants should confirm their acceptance of the bed space offer and settle the required fees by a specified deadline. Otherwise, they will be assumed to decline the reserved bed space, which will be given to other applicants on the waiting list. Requests for resuming the declined offers will not be considered.

b) Waiting List
Students on the waiting list will be handled depending on bed space availability and according to the selection criteria. We shall contact the students on the waiting list immediately if there are any vacancies. However, it is likely that NTTIH may not be able to absorb all the applicants on the waiting list. Students on the waiting list are advised to visit our web page https://sa.hkbu.edu.hk/sas/living-off-campus/off-campus-housing-alternatives regarding off-campus housing and arrange their accommodations by themselves.
