Food and Drink Policy

Health protection measures

Additional measures to safeguard the health of the University community remain in force:

  • Users are reminded that a face mask should be worn at all times when they are in the Learning Commons. Any user found not to be wearing a mask will be asked to leave.
  • Eating in the Learning Commons is prohibited. Water dispensers and snacks vending machine service are suspended.
  • Seating has been reduced in all areas and group study rooms are closed. Please do not occupy any study space that has been marked as unavailable for use.

The staff of the Learning Commons and campus security reserve the right to patrol all areas. Those who have infringed the rules will be asked to leave the premises. Any breach of rules/regulations may lead to cancellation of bookings, and/or suspension of access/booking facilities.

  1. Only light snacks and drinks similar to those provided by the vending machines in the Learning Commons are allowed. 
  2. Users should keep the environment clean and dispose of any litter properly after consumption of snacks and drinks.
  3. Staff of the Learning Commons or campus security reserves the right to review/determine which food and drink items are acceptable.
