Life and Career in a Changing World

Prof Yigong Shi is a world leader in structural biology and the President of the Westlake University. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Tsinghua University in 1989 and PhD in Biophysics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1995. He joined Princeton University as an Assistant Professor in 1998 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2003. Prof Shi joined Tsinghua University in 2008 and became Vice President of Tsinghua University in 2015. Prof. Yigong Shi has been the recipient of many awards, including The Ho Leung Ho Lee Award for Achievement in Science and Technology (2016), Future Science Prize in Life Sciences (2017), and VCANBIO Achievement Award for Biosciences and Medicine (2017).
