Implementation of the new Student Learning Experience System (SLES)
With effect from 29 December 2017, the University will launch the new Student Learning Experience System (SLES) to provide a common platform for staff and students to manage and record Co-curricular and Extra-curricular activities. The data of Co-curricular Learning (CCL) activities will also be incorporated to SLES, in which staff can apply for and manage CCL activities and students can register for CCL activities, view their CCL activity record and fulfilment report. With SLES launched, the CCL Programme Application Management System and the Student U-life Record E-system (SURE) will be discontinued accordingly.
Data migration from the CCL Programme Application Management System and SURE to SLES will take place during the period from 22 December to 29 December 2017 (Friday to next Friday), in which CCL application and management by staff and viewing of attendance record and registration for activities in SURE by students will be temporarily suspended. Since 29 December 2017, please use the SLES instead to:
- apply for CCL recognition;
- receive student registration for CCL activities;
- manage CCL activities and upload CCL attendance;
- register for CCL activities (yet registration for CCL activities is not limited to SLES); and
- view your CCL records.
The CCL website (http://sa.hkbu.edu.hk/ccl/) will remain in use during and after the data migration.
As preparation for data migration, staff are requested to submit CCL applications and upload the attendance of completed CCL activities by 15:00, 21 December 2017 (Thursday) via the CCL Programme Application Management System for CCL Team's processing. The CCL Programme Application Management System will shut down since 00:00, 22 December 2017 (Friday) for data migration. If staff have to seek CCL recognition for upcoming activities during the period from 22 December to 29 December 2017, please consult CCL Team at 3411 2331 or firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
Students are warmly reminded that they will not have access to SURE for viewing their CCL records and registration for activities during the data migration period.
The link to SLES will be announced in due course.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.
