HKSAR Government Endeavour Merit Award 2017/18
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government has established the Endeavour Merit Award (EMA) to give recognition to deserving post-secondary students with special educational needs (SEN) in the pursuit of excellence in academic and other areas. SEN are as specified below:
* Specific learning disabilities
* Intellectual disabilities
* Autism spectrum disorders
* Attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder
* Physical disability
* Visual impairment
* Hearing impairment
* Speech and language impairment
In the 2017/18 academic year, a total of 4 HKBU students will be awarded the EMA at HK$10,000 each.
The Award will be awarded to full-time undergraduate or postgraduate students with one or more SEN studying in any disciplines (UGC-funded programmes only). Applicants should have attained a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or above after semester 1, 2017/18, and have a good record of extra-curricular activities and/or community and voluntary services.
***Note that students may only be awarded either the HKSAR Government Scholarship or the EMA in each academic year, but they may be awarded other scholarships/awards under the HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund, such as TDS and ROA in the same academic year.

Completed application form together with copies of all relevant supporting documents (including unofficial academic transcripts, medical reports, certificates/awards for participation in extra-curricular activities and community services, if any) should be submitted to the Office of Student Affairs, WLB 401 (Rm 401, Level 4, The Wing Lung Bank Building for Business Studies), Shaw Campus, at or before 5:30pm, February 2, 2018 (Friday).
In the event of unforeseeable circumstances, such as extreme weather, that resulted in the sudden closure of SFA Counter on the day of the deadline, SFA will extend the deadline of application to 5:30pm of the following working day.
Partial submissions / late applications will NOT be considered. Also, application form with e-signature, scanned signature, typed signature, or signature not signed by applicant, and scanned or photocopy of application form will NOT be considered.
You should ONLY attach relevant supporting documents with your application form. Submitting application forms attached with irrelevant documents such as copies of HKID card, HKBU student card, activities/services proofs that are not within 3 years, etc. might adversely affect your application.
