HKBU Outstanding Student Leaders Awards 2017/18 (Deadline: 9 March 2018)

12 FEB - 09 MAR 2018

Aiming at recognizing students’ distinctive leadership and all-rounded achievements, encouraging students’ whole-person development, as well as erecting role models for potential student leaders to learn from, the University has established a new award scheme, namely, the HKBU Outstanding Student Leaders Awards since 2012/13. In the 2017/18 academic year, up to twelve awards of HK$5,000 each are available.

The awards shall be awarded to full-time year 2 or above undergraduate students of UGC-funded programmes in any disciplines who have:
(a) satisfactory academic performance (cumulative GPA of 2.80 or above);
(b) good attitude and communication skills;
(c) strong leadership qualities as demonstrated in extra-curricular activities;
(d) outstanding record of services/contributions in the university or/and community.

**Note that students who have already received the HKBU Outstanding Student Leaders Awards in previous years are not eligible to apply.

Recipients of the Awards are obliged to:
(a) attend the Donors' Tea Reception on 2 May 2018 (Wednesday) as a Scholarship Ambassador;
(b) give sharings through presentations, writings, exhibitions, etc., upon invitation;
(c) be the role models of HKBU and help promote the University's image.

The application form can be downloaded at the following link: The completed application form together with copies of relevant supporting documents (including proofs of participation in extra-curricular activities/community services, certificates of award, etc.) should be submitted to the SFA Unit, Office of Student Affairs at WLB 401 (Rm 401, Level 4, The Wing Lung Bank Building for Business Studies), Shaw Campus, at or before 5:30pm, March 9, 2018 (Friday).

Note: In the event of unforeseeable circumstances, such as extreme weather, that resulted in the sudden closure of SFA Counter on the day of the deadline, SFA will extend the deadline of hard copy application form submission to 5:30pm of the following working day. However, the online application platform will close as scheduled, and no extension will be offered.

Note that applicants do NOT need to submit their transcripts as supporting documents.

Partial submissions/late applications will NOT be considered. Also, application form with e-signature or signature not signed by applicant, and scanned or photocopy of application form will NOT be considered.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an internal selection interview in late March 2018 (It is a "MUST" to attend the interview in Hong Kong). The selection results will be announced by early April 2018.
